Elite Nannies Miami is excited to announce that we have expanded our professional childcare services to include newborn infant care! If you’re not already a trained and certified Newborn Care Specialist but enjoy working with babies and want to support new parents, the Newborn Care Solutions Institute offers online training.
What are the benefits of becoming a certified Newborn Care Specialist?
During the first weeks of their newborn’s life, Newborn Care Specialists help parents with sleep, feeding routines, and infant development. NCS have a lot of autonomy in their jobs. They generally work on their alone with little supervision from their parents. NCS act as baby whisperers and parent lifesavers, and there’s a lot of demand for them! Do you love caring with newborns and infants? As a certified Newborn Care Specialist you can transform that passion into a professional career!
What impact will this have on my nanny career as a professional?
Newborn Care Specialists work on short-term contracts throughout the first 3 to 6 months of their newborn’s life. They can work up to 4 or 5 placements in a single year. The more placements you are employed for, the more money you can make. Furthermore, just as in any other area, completing more training and acquiring experience allows you to earn a greater salary. As a result, NCS often earn a greater wage than a standard Nanny. This rate is much as $3-$8 per hour more than the average Nanny wage.
What steps do I need to take to become a Newborn Care Specialist?
There are a variety of training and certification programs to choose from, some of which are online/virtual and others which are in-person. The best program 1) will specifically prepare you for NCS certification, 2) is accredited by an independent organization, 3) is taught by an instructor who teaches evidence-based practices, 4) has positive reviews from previous participants, and 5) is taught by an instructor who teaches evidence-based practices. Instead of just giving you a certificate of participation, give you the option of becoming a certified NCS. Additional specialized childcare training in areas including such as sleep conditioning, breastfeeding/chestfeeding, lactation training, and/or Postpartum Doula training may also be beneficial, since this will make you a more qualified and desirable NCS candidate.
