Thalya Olmos is the founder of Elite Nannies On Call Miami! Please take a moment to read about the exciting new adventure Elite Nannies Miami is embarking upon! Here is a little background on Mrs. Thalya
The idea for “Elite Nannies On Call” came to Thalya Olmos when she noticed a specific need and the lack of an outlet to provide it. “For two and a half years I had been working at the Victory Center for Autism, and I would notice that whenever one of the children was too sick to attend school, it would cause a lot of headaches for the parents. While most parents could just call a babysitter, children with special needs require something more.”
With a desire to help, Olmos formed Elite Nannies On Call, which continues to provide specialized care for children in the Miami, Broward and Palm Beach areas. From working with developmental disabilities to Autism, behavioral changes to ADD and ADHD, Olmos’s business aims to put parents at ease with the aid of professionally trained nannies who specialize in these areas and more.
While Olmos had a killer concept, the founding of her company required some extended effort. “Anyone who is just starting out does not know all the difficulties they are going to face. In the beginning, it seems like it is a never-ending process, and that is true in a way. You need to set milestones and keep yourself on track.” While these are great pieces of advice, Olmos urges followers in her footsteps to also retain a wider span of focus. “Your desire has to be greater than just completing the necessary tasks; you have to be able to see the bigger picture.”
¨Be the change you want to see
in the world¨ -Mahatma Gandhi
There is one element that Mrs. Olmos never plans to change.
“I always had a desire to do some sort of social entrepreneurship, and life just happened to work out this way. Had I paused and thought about doing this [business]. I would have never done it; too many things would have stopped me. All I knew is that I wanted to make an impact, and so when I saw the opportunity, I just went for it.”
For Mrs. Olmos, the daily challenges and stress are overcome by the families she is helping. “To be a part of something bigger- a child’s developmental growth, that is what keeps me going.” As the leader of her company, Mrs. Olmos attributes “being humble” as a main composite of her professional success. “You should never adopt the attitude of ‘I know what is right.’ Create a team that supports you, and be willing to keep learning.”
Future plans for Mrs. Olmos’ business include the hopes to expand outside of Florida, while still upholding its high standard of customer care. “Before one of our nannies ever gets assigned to a child, either I or my partner have already had an initial visit at the family’s home. This allows us to get to know the Family personally and customize their needs.”
CEO and Founder Thalya Olmos has worked for several years with children with autism and behavioral challenges until she decided to venture out in the childcare world with the hopes of utilizing the knowledge she attained to the best of her capabilities and provide new programs and services while still contributing to the future of our community, our children.
