Honor those who served in the U.S. military on Veterans Day at one of several free parades and ceremonies happening on Nov. 11 around Miami:


Pinecrest Veterans Day Ceremony
:
11 am-1 pm at Veterans Wayside Park, 11111 Pinecrest Parkway. Includes an honor guard, military veterans presentations, musical performances and a picnic lunch. Free. 305-284-0900.

Miami Beach Veteran’s Day Parade & Picnic: 11 am-2 pm on Ocean Drive between 5th and 14th streets.   Join them for the annual parade that begins at 11:11 am. Free. 305-673-7575

Vet-Fest-2016-flyerVet Fest: 5 pm-3 am at Mana Wynwood, 318 NW 23rd St. Performances by The Bright Light Social Hour (from Austin), SunGhosts, Chantil Dukart, Juke, Otto Von Schirach, DJ Heron, DJ Sharpsound. Click here for the free tickets and more info. $10 at the door. Anyone who donates two canned goods at the door will receive a free drink. All proceeds for this event will be donated to Prosperity of Warriors CDC.

Florida State Parks: To thank all who have served and sacrificed, all Florida State Parks will grant free entry to all visitors on Nov. 11. Pack a picnic and celebrate this day with your loved ones, or take advantage of the three-day weekend by taking a camping trip. Whether your visit lasts a day or the whole weekend, find a park in your area using this Regional Map and spend time outdoors.

North Miami Veterans Memorial: 10 am at Griffing Park on Northeast 123rd Street and West Dixie Highway. The City of North Miami will honor veterans with a community festival that includes music, bounce houses for the kids, family activities, and more. Free snacks and treats. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic food. 305-895-9840.

Surfside Veterans Day Ceremony: 10 am at Veterans Park, 8791 Collins Ave. The mayor will serve as master of ceremonies and there will be a presentation of colors, local scout troops and guest speakers. Light refreshments. (305) 866-3635.

Cutler Bay Veterans Day Ceremony: 10 am – noon at Lakes by the Bay Park, 8551 SW 216 St. Honoring the brave men and women who served our country with the Homestead Air Reserve Color Guard posting of colors, the pledge of allegiance and national anthem by the Cutler Ridge Elementary Choir, student essay reading from Cutler Bay High School, taps, and food and drinks available.  (305) 238-4166.

Doral Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony: 10 am – noon. The parade will begin at 10 am on 33rd street in the parking lot of Aloft & Element Miami Doral Hotels, and end at Veterans Park, 10190 NW 33 St., where the ceremony will then begin. The Ceremony will include key speakers and an opportunity to purchase a memorial brick for that special veteran in your life. (305) 593-6611.

55th Annual Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony in Homestead: 11 am – 2 pm. Ceremony will begin at 11 am at Losner Park, 104 N. Krome Ave., and the Parade begins at 12 noon with the line up on Flagler Avenue, then proceeds to Mowry over to Krome Avenue to Campbell Drive back to Flagler Avenue.

Miami Springs Veterans Day Ceremony: 10-11 am at the War Monument on Curtiss Parkway. 305-805-5075.
