Describe your childcare philosophy:
I would say in the lines of Super Nanny, Mary Poppins, and Nanny 911, as well as Montessori and Waldorf-Steiner constituent.
Describe your background and education in the childcare realm and beyond:
I started changing diapers (my brother’s) when I was 6. I became my brothers’ summer nanny at 11 (they were 1 and 7). I made $25 per week–plus room and board, of course, haha. I started babysitting outside the family at 11, for the neighbors where I made $1.50/hr. The rest is history….
What is your favorite part about being a nanny?
Random hugs from little ones. Watching a child do something well that I taught him. (See: You Tube video of me and Pietro!)
What are your hobbies and passions outside of being a nanny?
Language study, travel, dance, cooking, writing.
A funny or interesting fact about “ME”:
1. I once performed as a Tina Turner impersonator in Cyprus! (my wig was AMAZING, looked just like her!) 2. I taught a dance workshop in SIBERIA and was on the news for two days–I instantly became famous! 3. I was on a cooking game show on the FOOD TV network, NYC. I was the finalist, beating out the other contestants, but did not win my solo round race against the clock and the trip to Sonoma. I went home with a cookbook and $100 restaurant gift certificate (which, VERY SADLY, never got used because I left NYC soon after.)
